About
The Pants Factory
The Pants Factory is a local, family-owned business.
The Local
Jackie was born and raised in Orleans, having spent many teenage afternoons in The Army and Navy Surplus Store, where The Pants Factory Workplace now sits. Having come and gone from her hometown over the years for high school, college, and a teaching career, Jackie resettled in nearby Eastham in 2018 while establishing her educational consulting firm. She returned home with two Washashores in tow: Devon and Finnoula Rose. As Jackie has said, starting a business from home was a fun new challenge, but there was more laundry than business getting taken care of before she found her way to coworking at TPF.
When she isn’t welcoming new TPF members or working with her independent school clients, Jackie can be found walking the family dogs, reading on the outer beach, shuttling Finny to one activity or another, or paddling in whatever water is farthest from the local sharks.
The Washashore
Devon grew up in a hockey rink because that’s what you do in Canada. He left his native land to attend college in the U.S. while continuing to push pucks around the ice. Fortunately for him, he met his future wife, who somehow convinced him that Cape Cod was where they should build a home, a family, and a life. She was correct (of course!), and now he spends his hours coaching a youth hockey team, hiking around the National Seashore, and working remotely for a global biotech company. He also cleans the toilets at the office, a surprising skill he had yet to employ at his own house, much to Jackie’s disappointment.
Devon discovered TPF while trying to finish his dissertation from the un-airconditioned third floor of his in-law’s home. In need of a flexible space with access at all hours, Devon settled into TPF and has occupied four of the offices thus far, and counting.
The Offspring
Finny is currently focused on a successful elementary school experience. When she isn’t crushing chapter books and running wild at recess, she earns her keep at TPF as the head of the Plant Watering Team and the Dusting Division. She is currently being paid in Lifesavers and locally made chocolate treats (of The Hot Chocolate Sparrow variety), so please, no one tell her about the going hourly rate for cleaning. She plans to take over as the operations manager in a few years, after fifth-grade graduation.
